Our Motivation
The switch to regenerative energy sources require extensive electrification of drive systems. Novel power electronics based on gallium nitride (GaN) enables more efficient and compact drives for industry and mobility - with particularly demanding requirements in terms of dynamics and reliability.
State-of-the-art drive systems and power modules are limited to continuous condition monitoring, which requires costly and data-intensive communication with higher-level systems.
The Vision
PowerCare uses a new monitoring concept in the form of a miniaturized motor controller with integrated real-time failure prediction (edge AI) to let you know in advance of upcoming maintenance needs, thus laying the foundation for a new evolutionary stage of intelligent power modules. Simultaneously, the switch to vertical GaN MOSFETs allows for unrivaled power densities and ruggedness.
